CBU Queenie Simmons Archive & Southern Baptist Depository and Archive
The Southern Baptist Depository and Archive offers books, journals, convention and association annuals, state newspapers, Sunday school curriculum materials and other Southern Baptist publications. It includes historical records from many California Southern Baptist Convention churches, as well as historical records and photographs from Jenness Park Christian Camp. The book depository includes over 2,500 books on Biblical studies, church history, and doctrinal and practical theology from Baptist publishers like B & H Publishing, Mercer University Press and the Baptist Standard Bearer. The depository is available for browsing on the second floor of the library. Contact Vi Estel for more information on the Archive and its use.
(Additionally, many older Baptist publications have passed into the public domain and are available from Google Books. Click here for a partial list.)
The California Baptist University Queenie Simmons Archive provides access to information on the history of CBU through its collection of yearbooks, campus publications, photographs and other historical documents, in addition to the collected papers of S. G. Posey, Lawrence Nelson, Helen Walker and Melodie Yocum. It also includes historical records and photographs related to the history of Tahquitz Pines Conference Center. Contact Vi Estel for more information on the Archive and its use.
The Archive is currently involved in an initiative to digitize its collections. Two collections are now available for online searching and browsing:
The Banner Digital Archive -- The CBU award-winning student newspaper, with issues from 1952 to 2000.
The Roundtable Digital Archive -- The official magazine of California Baptist University, including issues from 1961.
